Two individuals Qualify for Regional Mee
Team : Men's Varsity Cross Country
Date : Fri 30 Oct 2009
Time : 9:00 am
Location :Northwest Park
Game Summary:
While it may not be the outcome that we were hoping for the boys cross country team gave a valiant effort friday against some tough district competition to earn a 4th place finish, 5 points behind 3rd (regional qualifiying position). However, we did have two regional qualifiers as individuals being Gustavo Aguilera 7th and Paris Wallett 10th. While not one of our best performances of the year we can take pride in the fact that of the 7 varsity runners this was the first district competition for most of them so we got some valuabe experience and will expect to make a big splash at this point next year.
JV was second with some great races, individual winner Chris Panalez lead the race from beginning to end in a real showing of effort. The rest of the jv race was a great team effort and were barely edged out by pasadena memorial for the win.
In the Freshman race, Cameron Avina and Marc Gonzalez went 1st and 2nd as individuals with some other great efforts for another 2nd place finish.
It has been a great year with tons of improvement and excitement. I look foward to many more years of success here at La Porte as we continue to build the boys cross country program.
Please wish Paris and Gustavo good luck at Regionals when you see them. Thanks so much for everything.
